The heart of the LED is a semiconductor chip, which consists of a p-type semiconductor and an n-type semiconductor. When these two semiconductors are connected to each other, a P-N junction is formed between them. When the current acts on the wafer through the wires, the holes, and electrons located in the p-type semiconductor and the n-type semiconductor will be pushed to the P-N junction. When the holes and electrons meet, they will emit energy in the form of photons.
